Common questions

My ZIP code isn't recognized. How do I get a planting schedule?
We use a bundled US zip-code dataset to look up your USDA zone and frost dates. If your zip isn't in it, the app will let you enter frost dates manually. Open Settings → Location → Last frost / First frost and set them — the planting schedule recalculates immediately.
How do I change my frost dates?
Open Settings → Location and tap either frost-date row. Manual edits override the auto-filled values and persist across devices.
How do I add a plant?
Open the Plants tab and tap + in the top right. Type the kind, an optional variety, and either fill the growing fields yourself or tap Ask AI to autofill them. You can also browse the bundled catalog from the same screen.
What's the difference between a garden and an area?
A gardenis the named physical space you grow in (e.g. "Backyard beds"). Inside it, you create one or more areas — beds, raised beds, or pots — and place plants into those. The map view lets you draw the actual shape of your beds if you want a visual layout.
How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by the platform you signed up on, so cancellation happens there:

  • iPhone / iPad: Settings app → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Plant It Planner → Cancel.
  • Android: Google Play app → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Plant It Planner → Cancel.

Your Premium access stays active until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund?
Refunds run through the platform you bought from. For iOS, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android, request one through Google Play's purchase history.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Profile → Delete account. We permanently delete your profile, all gardens, plants, journal entries, photos, and Premium usage records within 30 days. This is irreversible.
Why are my AI features asking for consent?
When you first trigger Garden Plan, Insights, or plant autofill, we show a one-time disclosure that those features send your inputs (plant kind, growing zone, area size) to OpenAI. We never send photos, journal text, or your email. Tap Continue to grant consent — it persists across sessions.
My data isn't syncing between my phone and the web.
Confirm you're signed in with the same account on both devices — Sign in with Apple, Google, and email each create separate accounts even if the email address looks the same. Open Settings → Profile on each device and compare the email shown.
Do you have a desktop / web version?
Yes — visit plantitplanner.com and sign in with the same account you use on mobile. Everything syncs.
